Born 1963 Sydney, Australia. Prior to 1984 Studied sculpture and jewelry design at the Sydney College of Art. 1986 set up the POD design studio; clock designs; first furniture exhibition at the Roslyn Oxley Gallery, Sydney. 1987 Worked in Tokyo; produced various chair and lamp designs for the Idee company in Tokyo. 1988 Solo exhibition in Tokyo. 1989 Exhibition at the gallery II Milione, Milan. 1991 Exhibition at the gallery VIA in Paris. 1992 Furnished boutiques in Frankfurt and Berlin. 1993 Received the Créateur de l’année distinction from the Paris Furniture Salon. 1995 Participated in the exhibition “13 nach Memphis” at the Frankfurt Museum of Arts and Crafts; commissioned to design an interactive installation for Fondation Cartier, Paris; as well as for the Swatch watch tower at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta; interior furnishings in London and Tokyo. 1997 Moves to London. 1999 Develops the 021C concept car for Ford; presented at the Tokyo Motor Show. 2003 Participates in “Somewhere Totally Else – The European Design Show” at the Design Museum, London. 2004 Exhibition of his works at the Design Museum, London. 2005 Awarded a CBE for services to design in the UK and worldwide.
