Born 1959 London, England. 1979–82 Graduated in Design BA (Des.) at Kingston School of Art, London. 1982–85 Graduated in Design MA (Des.) at The Royal College of Art, London. 1984 Received a scholarship to the Berlin Academy of Arts. 1986 Opened his own design studio. 1987 Designed the installation for Reuter’s News Center at “documenta 8,” Kassel. 1988 Installation “Some New Items for the House I” in Berlin. 1989 Installation “Some New Items for the House II” for Vitra GmbH in Milan. 1992 Published A World Without Words; received the german Bundespreis für Produktdesign award for a series of door handles created for Franz Schneider Brakel GmbH. 1993 Installation for the Museum of Applied Art, Vienna. 1995 Solo exhibition in the architectural center Arc en rêve, Bordeaux; numerous teaching positions and workshops; wins competition for the design of the new Hanover tram. 1997–2004 Contract work for Alessi, Flos, Magis, Muji, Rosenthal, Rowenta, Vitra. 2000 Furnishing of Tate Modern, London. 2002 Publication of the monograph “Everything But The Walls”; opens design studio in Paris. 2006/07 Participates in the “Designing Modern Britain” exhibition, Design Museum, London
