Alexander Girard "The Magic of a People", original print 1968

Alexander Girard, 1968

The Designer Alexander Girard, together with his friends George Nelson and Charles and Ray Eames, is one of the defining figures of American post-war design. His work focused on textile design, but he also made a name for himself as a furniture, interior, exhibition and graphic designer.

Girard designed this poster for "The Magic of a People", his specially initiated folk art exhibition, which he presented at the international exhibition "HemisFair '68" in San Antonio, Texas.
