Miniature Solid C2

Patrick Jouin, 2004

In addition to Vogt + Weizenegger, the French designer Patrick Jouin was one of the first to use 3D printing in the field of furniture design that was still new at the beginning of the 2000s. His Solid C2 chair, shown here, was created in 2004 in cooperation with .MGX, the design department of Materialise, based in Leuven, Belgium. Solid C2 is the first piece of furniture that has been produced in just one full-size print. Jouin chose the technique of stereolithography (SLA).
